Create an event

Fields and options when you create a new event in the organizer app.

Creating an event is the first real setup step after signup. Each event is a self-contained project: its own public site, tickets, attendees, and team.

When to create a new event

Create a new event when:

  • You are running a separate date or gathering
  • Branding, tickets, or audience should stay separate
  • You need a clean attendee list for reporting

Reuse the same event only when you are continuing the same gathering (editing details, not starting a new one).

Required details

When you click Create event, you will set:

Name

Shown on the public site, emails, and your dashboard. Use something guests recognize.

Slug

The URL path or subdomain segment (for example summit-2026). Keep it short, lowercase, and stable. Changing it later breaks shared links.

Start / end

Drive “upcoming” filters and agenda ordering. Set a real end time so the site does not look live forever.

Timezone

All public times display in this zone. Pick the venue timezone, not your laptop’s zone if they differ.

Location

Choose how guests will attend:

  • Venue: in-person; you can add address and map details on the public Venue section later
  • Online: remote; put the join link in the site or confirmation email when ready
  • Hybrid: both; make clear which ticket types are in-person vs online

You can refine venue copy after create. The location type mainly sets expectations on the public site.

After you create

Saving opens the event workspace. The sidebar is your map:

Area Use it for
Overview Live counts (registrations, revenue, check-in)
Website Branding, sections, domain
Tickets Inventory and prices
Forms Registration questions
Attendees Search, export, resend
Check-in Door scanning
AI Draft tickets, forms, content
Team Invites and roles
Developers Widgets and webhooks

Tips that save headaches later

  • Prefer a slug you can say out loud and print on badges
  • Set accurate end times
  • You can edit branding anytime; tickets can wait until the site outline is ready, but registration cannot open without a ticket
  • Do not create duplicate events for minor copy edits; edit the existing one
